Put it in the cooler. Get it out. It is what it is. Works fine. Put in freezer, let it get cold.
I've put a little bit of hermetic around the plug which seems to take care of the problem. I've bought two of these and one of them had a significant leak on arrival. Will buy more as needed. Holds the cold up to 4HRS w/o a cooler. Compact, durable.

You dont have to worry about waterproofing things before you place them in the cooler like you do with ice. I plan on ordering 4 more so I have them for the camping season.
